Industrial Downflow Softeners

The SEION D-Flow softener is a manually operated ion exchange unit designed specially for industrial use. It is simple to operate, inexpensive to maintain and is widely used in the industry.

The softener comprises a steel pressure vessel containing a bed of cation exchange resin, regenerating system and control valves.

A strongly acidic cation resin in sodium form is used to exchange sodium ion for produce soft water, at the end of each service cycle, the ion exchange resin is regenerated with sodium chlo-ride solution, after which the unit is ready for the next service cycle.

For introducing the brine into the unit, a hydraulic ejector with control valve and suction and delivery piping are provided. A combined salt tank which can hold sufficient quantity of salt for a number of regenerations is provide, for large plants, a brine measuring tank is provided, and a separate salt saturate, pre-ferably in concrete, is recommended for bulk storage of salt and preparation of brine. Standard equipment is available to soften water, up maximum flow rate of 275m3/h.
